End of the semester update!

I'm finally finished with 117b and it feels good to begin the summer. Here are some updates on what I've been working on for the last couple weeks.

Here is an update of my finished Character/ Vehicle Design

My three story moment pieces of The Crystal Ball. For this round, I wanted to go for a more graphic/ flat style like that of Maurice noble or Scott Wills. I definitely had some bumps on the wa so I had to go back and  redesign most of the paintings. In the end, I feel like it came out closer to what I wanted and I'm really glad I took the chance to illustrate in this type of style.

My comps:

The final:

Also, if you already haven't already, please watch Sym-Bionic Titan. It's a great series that got canceled on Cartoon Network but has beautiful art, great Story, and awesome characters. I totally recommend it!

Bee and Vehicle Design

Here is an update on what I've bee working on in 117B. This round, we have to create a racer, gunner and a off the road truck for a racing video game. We were limited to animals in California and I did several ideations of animals but the one that I went with was bees.

For the the first round of bees, I tried to get some dynamic shapes and find a way to differentiate the gunner and driver.

In the end, I went with these two and then went on refining the Truck that they were going to drive.

117b- character/ environment Ideations

I'm finally in 117b and I can't wait to absorb the knowledge in this class!

Some character Ideations:
I tried playing with some shapes but I feel that some of them could be even more pushed. I had fun though and was excited to see my characters taking shape.

Environments:
I definitely explored a lot for the environments and I was trying to figure out some lighting and a couple story moments. This was a bit more challenging because I  had to think a lot about the depth and lighting but it was a great learning experience.
