Hellboy

Recently I've watched an interview with Mike Mignola (creator of Hellboy) who's a very interesting/particular guy.

What struck me the most with him was his response to a question about how an artist can develop his/her own styles.

His response was:
1. study a bunch of artist (see what makes their work so successful)
2. develop your own way to interpret that art work.
